7-Cotton Ball Transfer Activity

Homeschool transferring activities with cotton balls

Materials:

  • Cotton balls
  • Plastic or wooden bowls
  • Plastic tong

This morning,I tried some table work with my three year old.I demonstrated transferring cotton balls from the bowl into a jug using tongs.
This afternoon, she told me she had something to show me and this is what I was presented with. She then showed me exactly what to do,removing one cup at a time, forming a line, placed a cotton ball in each cup, then moved each cotton ball back to the bowl, and restacked the cups.
I know these are not %100 Montessori materials since they are plastic, but we are making a gradual transition and working with what we have.It is going great so far and I can’t wait to practice more and have everything switched over to beautiful natural materials.
