Today there is a handicraft matching activity we prepared to consolidate the colours and develop the fine and gross motor skills at the same time.
Color Matching Activities with Bottle Tops and Pop Sticks
Toddlers who are older than 36 months are capable of counting numbers, learning colours and matching the identical items with one another and they also enjoy that kind of activites like counting, matching, etc. If you want to teach colours to your child and develop his/her motor skills, this activity is for you! With this colour matching activity, while your child is doing brain exercise to match the identical colours, he/she will also be developing his/her motor skills through the materials you will use.
Since the attention span of little children is very short, it is important that the activities should be fun and attention grabbing for them. That is why this short time activity would be very fun and educational about learning the colours and matching them with one another. Here is a very easy and practical handicraft for you to prepare with basic materials.
Required Materials
- Coloured cardboards
- Paper towel roll
- Abeslang sticks
- Bottle tops
- Colourful circle stickers
- Silicon gun
- Coloured pompoms
- Scissors
- Gator Grabber Tweezers
- Handy Scoopers
- Squeezy Tweezers
How to do it?
First of all, cover the abeslang sticks with coloured cardboards one by one.Or paint the sticks.
Secondly, stick the colourful circle stickers on the bottle tops and the bottle tops on the edge of the sticks with the identical colour.
Then paste the sticks around the paper towel roll.
Lastly, put the coloured pompoms in a box and that’s it!
Now you can play the colour matching game with your toddler. Let him/her use the fine motor skill development materials while putting the coloured pompons on the same coloured bottle tops. These materials provide the development of hand muscles and the fine and gross motor skills. Hope you enjoy it!
*Motor skill development materials should be used by 1,5+ children.
